Kirsti has worked in
retail since she was 14 years old; she progressed from helping out in a family
business, to denim specialist at the GAP, smiley and energetic barista with
Starbucks and finally to a retail manager with a medium sized Canadian fashion
retailer. In 2006 she left store level operations and returned to school
fulltime in Vancouver
at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). It was here she discovered her passion for
marketing and was introduced to social media, recruitment and employment
branding. Kirsti returned to Starbucks in 2008, influencing and streamlining
the sourcing function in Canada
through their retail and non retail lines of business. She has led the implementation
of their Candidate Relationship Management (CRM) software, a new employment
brand launch and updated career website in Canada. Her knowledge and creativity allow her to
push the boundaries of traditional recruitment. Kirsti has spoken previously at
Ryerson University’s Retail Week and the Retail
Council of Canada HR Conference on topics including personal branding and
social recruiting.
